Heartpolitix
These are perilous times. What if we step out of "the usual" to bring our insights, skills and uncertainties together, holding our glimpses of what is seeking to emerge lightly?
What does a heartfelt, reflective, supportive, empowering, transcontextual inquiry and community look like? And how do you feel when you're taking new shape?

The Money Stuff
We have done our best to make this Gathering as accessible as possible. No-one is getting paid - except the Walker Creek team and Rebecca Genauer, the wonderful administrator who manages the back office for all MBMS events. All these people have been extremely supportive in making sure this event can get established.

On this page you can find details of how we have organised the calculations to make sure that there are multiple options for attending, everyone gets fed, associated costs and expenses are covered, and that we all contribute to a financial gift to the Marin Miwok people on whose land we will be meeting. We envisage holding the Gathering to around 50 people or so and we have built a small contribution to the Scholarship Fund in every ticket - and we've got an option if you wish to contribute a bit extra. Many thanks if you can.
Walker Creek offers a wonderful range of facilities. You can see details of this on their website or in this PDF document (right).

Right Relationship
Covering Costs
How do we meet on unceded land of colonised people without acknowledging what was done and all that has become fixed in the intervening years? And yet, how do we acknowledge this without perpetuating the same dynamic?
A request and symbolic gift from the Gathering to the Marin Niwok people does not disavow our places in the unchanged dynamic. That said, we pay attention, and any change in perception is an action, however inadequate until it isn't.

We will be making a contribution to the Marin Niwok from the Gathering of $10-15 per head, and may be able to let you know how they are thinking to use it to best nourish community.
Total Ticket
Ticket Cost - includes accommodation, meals, and all other fees as above - except the Eventbrite commission added when you book online.

Type & Cost of Lodging Total
Camp/RV $ 535.83
Economy dorm $ 667.83
Shared lodge (twin rm) $ 851.83
Shared lodge (single room) $1063.83

In the (unanticipated!) event of a small surplus, we will use it towards a deposit for the next event.
Theres a cost to making this all happen, of course, even with efforts mostly from volunteers. The per ticket pricing reflects:
Registration: $15
MBMS administration $20
Scholarship fund*: $15
Incidentals/safety net*: $15
The Eventbrite platform makes managing regsitrations and bookings easier and more foolproof. They charge around 7% on top of the ticket price. This has been added on when you book.
Scholarship Fund
Not everyone will be in a position to meet the full cost of the Gathering. If you need to negotiate the fee, please contact us (solidair@zoho.com) and we will see what we can do.

Some of us may be in a position to offer a small donation towards the scholarship fund, in addition to the sum built into every ticket. We are very grateful to those who so choose. The opportunity is included on the Eventbrite form - or contact us directly (solidair@zoho.com)
